"Whether you are a mother, a mum-to-be, a loving mother-in-law, or a supportive partner or friend, these recipes are for you. These are the foods I’ve used while mothering mothers in my community, and I hope they serve you as you step into your own sacred postpartum window, or support the mothers around you.

I have married my understanding of Ayurvedic postpartum principles with the traditional foods our ancestors consumed. These recipes were created with 3 pillars of nutrition in mind; fats, proteins, and minerals...but along with nutritional nourishment, let us not forget the power of comfort. Food has the power to transport us back to the sweet pockets of our pasts, and that feeling of nostalgia and comfort, I believe is just as important as the “health” aspects of a dish, especially during a sacred postpartum window. I hope these recipes bring you back to a sweet time and space, or help you create new ones as you step into motherhood or mothering a mother.
